Performance Analysis of Lorenz Chaotic Dynamical Control Systems Using Adaptive Synchronization and Adaptive Backstepping Control
Two systematic adaptive control approaches are applied for tracking and regulating the Lorenz chaotic system. The adaptive synchronization approach is implemented with 3 individual controllers involved in the Lyapunov function design. The adaptive backstepping control is also applied with single controller at much less control effort. The asymptotic stability following both control laws has been theoretically proved in detail. The numerical simulations on both cases of nonlinear control design have shown proper tracking and regulation performance as well as robustness, which can be easily extended to other chaotic control systems. Comparisons on merits and drawbacks of two means of practical implementation have been made and analyzed.Author(s):
