3D assessment of ESD field level for protection devices safety

Apparently, immunity tests applied to electronic equipment are theoretically simple and repeatable. These tests are standardized, but the major problem is related on different results, even if testing conditions are rigorous the same. It is important to evaluate the electrostatic charges accumulation and the subsequent discharges on the electronic environment in order to avoid damages even at the design stage. The paper is a statistical assessment of the dependence between fields induced by electrostatic discharge and the distance from the discharge point.
