Modelling and Transient Analysis of a Three-Phase Low-Speed Switched Reluctance Micro-Wind Generator

The present paper reports on electromagnetic modelling and transient analysis of a twelve-stator-pole, eight-rotor-teeth, three-phase switched reluctance generator (SRG) as the main part of a micro-wind energy conversion system. Since SRG performance depends on its control capability to minimize the electromagnetic torque ripple, the determination of optimal commutation pattern of SRG-side power converter switches is carried out for low-speed generating operation mode.
