Action Program /2012/IEEE-EMB RO Chapter

1. The IEEE-EMB RO Chapter Annual Seminar and meetings.

Description: A seminar with the members of the EMB community. The goal is to identify the status of the community and to explore new opportunities in consolidating the Chapter and strengthening ties with R&D, industry, companies, and other IEEE Chapters. It is expected that the EMB seminar will be connected to conferences such as ATEE, MEDITECH, EHB, INGIMED (in odd years) and others.

Annual EMB-EMC Seminar at ICATE-20122, U Craiova. Technically co-sponsored by EMB national chapter

You are cordially invited to attend the 11th edition ICATE, to be held in Craiova, October 25-27.

ICATE is hosted by the House of Academic Staff.

Among other topics of interest in Electrical Engineering, there will be a Section on “Electromagnetic Compatibility and Engineering in Medicine and Biology” – technically co-sponsored by our Chapter.

ICATE 2012 intends to strengthen the communication among researchers, academia and industry. Presentations of software demos and exhibition of products are strongly encouraged

2. Strengthening ties with IEEE-RO Chapters.

The joint EMB-EMC actions continue throughout 2012. The main event is the ICATE 2012 conference, which is an IEEE eXplore event (#20803

3. Strengthening ties between academia and R&D, industry, and companies in EMB.

The international fair for medicine and pharmacy ROMMEDICA in 24 - 27 April 2012 will be held at ROMEXPO in Bucharest. Our Chapter will participate with two lectures – “The Impedance Cardiography for medical investigations”, and “Progress and Challenges in Fetal Monitoring” – through the recently founded (2010) Faculty of Medical Engineering at UPB.

4. Other actions

INGIMED 2012 national conference – to be planned. Tentative date – November 2012. Organizer ICPE-CA, Bucharest.

This is the ACTION Plan for 2012. The list is still open, and others actions and initiatives are welcome.

We are looking forward to working together in successfully solving the 2012 Agenda.
